DEANNA PIZZITELLI

Deanna Pizzitelli is a Canadian artist based in Bratislava (SK). She earned her BFA from Toronto Metropolitan University (CA) and her MFA from the University of Arizona (US).


In 2025, she participated in Even Distance, a group exhibition at Preacher Gallery in Austin (US). In 2023, SALUT AU MONDE! (PT) hosted a solo exhibition of her work. In 2022, her work was featured in Parallel Lives: Photography, Identity, and Belonging at the Center for Photography Woodstock (US), curated by Maya Benton, and the IMAGO Lisboa Photography Festival (PT).


Pizzitelli’s Koža, Women & Other Stories was among 10 projects selected for Les Rencontres d’Arles: Louis Roederer Discovery Award 2020 (FR). She was also chosen for the Jury’s Choice of the 2020 Prix Virginia (FR).


A recipient of the 2018 Scotiabank New Generation Photography Award (CA), her work was exhibited at the National Gallery of Canada and the OCADu Onsite Gallery, curated by Luce Lebart, and part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.


Pizzitelli has attended residencies in Iceland, Portugal, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Zambia, and beyond. She was awarded the Landskrona Foto Residency Bursary as part of the 2021 PhMuseum Photography Grant.


Represented by Stephen Bulger Gallery (CA), her work is in the collections of the Archive of Modern Conflict (UK), the Center for Creative Photography (US), and Archive 192 (CA).
